Virginie Bassetti is an extraordinary sculptor of both miniatures and monumentals.
Her name became a legend in 2013 with her creations that will adorn the eight new bells in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris for centuries to come.
This exceptional artist was identified several years' ago by Ze Art Galerie, which exclusively represents her. She created some quite exceptional works for Ze Art Galerie at a time when two-sided low reliefs had hitherto been unexplored. It took Virginie Bassetti more than a decade of work, research, trials and daily collaboration with her foundry to achieve such a challenge, and her two-sided low reliefs are so beautiful, fine and finished.
There's a creative flight with her bronze works, which articulate like books, becoming interactive, amazing and incomparable. Her collectors are fascinated by the pleasure she gets in capturing someone else's desire and taking it into her own world, which is why she was chosen for this incredible commission to create and realise sculptures of the bells in Notre-Dame de Paris. She makes unique customised pieces in different sizes, investing the same love in their making as she did for her " Love Doudous " (exclusive portable miniature sculptures at less than €1000) as in a monumental project with architectural elements such as portals, balustrades, trellises, or park and garden sculptures.
Virgine Bassetti is very inspired and talented, with precision, references and modernity. Her exceptional career as a a sculptor is only just beginning.
